Original Design Icon "La Chaise" Designed by Charles & Ray Eames, 1948, Manufacturer Vitra, Prod. 1998, variety of seating and lounging options. Inspired by the sculpture "Floating Figure" by sculptor Gaston Lachaise, Charles and Ray Eames designed La Chaise for a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The expansive seating sculpture impresses with its incredible elegance and allows a variety of sitting and lying positions. It has long been able to establish itself as an icon of organic design.
Materials: Seat shell polyurethane, white, chrome-plated tubular steel frame, base solid natural oak, with protective varnish.
